Product Review

I’m always curious about what others think, so, naturally, wouldn’t others be curious about my opinion? Truthfully? No. But that’s never prevented me from asserting myself or my opinion before. As a matter of fact, a dean in high school once told my mom, after I’d gotten in trouble about something ridiculous, that he thought I was opinionated. My mom’s reply, “Is there something wrong with that?”

At any rate, my product reviews will range from spatulas to teethers to cleansers. Unfortunately, any time I discover a fabulous product, they usually end up discontinuing it.

For Children:

Currently, Ethan is obsessed with Geo Trax by Fisher Price, www.fisher-pricestore.com. He simply cannot get enough of the remote controlled engines and various pathways created with the plastic tracks.

For Kitchen:

Flexible Spatulas: Do you have any idea how much residue gets left behind in you cookie batter bowls, scrambled egg bowls, oatmeal and grits pans, salad gressing bowls, etc.? By scraping the bowl after you’ve spooned out or poured out as much as you can, be sure to also use a flexible spatula to get any remaining residue. Sometimes, I get as much as a tablespoon more out of the bowl!

Martha Stewart’s Green Frying Pan is excellent. Nothing sticks to it, and I’m notorious for burning the hell out of pans. I once tried to make popcorn and scorched the bottom of the pan BLACK. That was in 2001; I still have the pan, and it STILL has that black residue on it. Popcorn is the one food I’ve never been able to make, go figure. Anyway, I could probably fry an egg on this pan WITHOUT using butter, but I’m not that adventurous, yet. And it’s far less expensive than the Caphalon non-stick skillets. I bought mine at Macy’s, www.macys.com.
